What you will be Supporting

The Highland Hill Project:

The Highland Hill Project is a community planning and organizing initiative aimed at empowering community members to develop and execute plans that uplift their neighborhoods. Over the last two summers, by training local youth to conduct outreach and administer surveys, we've been able to assess the needs in our neighborhood. The next step is to develop a comprehensive plan that pulls from proven models to address specific needs that our community has identified, and develop the community leadership necessary to execute those plans. We hope to move into the implementation phase by the summer of 2017.

ThePowerLab Project

One of the primary needs identified in our needs assessment was lack of economic opportunity, and ThePowerLab is a project aimed at addressing that need. ThePowerLab is a start-up incubation and co-working space that we are launching in the heart of Southwest Yonkers. Through ThePowerLab we will provide space and resources for local start-ups, cooperatives, and community leaders to help take their projects and businesses to the next level. In addition to workspace, ThePowerLab will include meeting spaces, event space, workshops, and individualized support and assistance for our community of participants. We signed the lease for the 2,700 sq./ft facility in October and we need as much support as we can get to help with the cost furnishing and building out out new space. We plan to launch ThePowerLab by June 2017.
